Palatka Boathouse Riverfront Marina - Anglers using the City’s municipal dock have a new place to buy bait and tackle before heading out on St. Johns. The new business, called the Ship Store, is one of the first of several additions and improvements planned for the City-owned Mary Lawson Brown Marina, City Dock, and Boat Ramp. The City of Palatka has partnered with the Boathouse Marina Company, which owns the historic Boathouse Marine located south of the boat ramp, on a new project called Boathouse Riverfront. The Boathouse Marina Company is owned by brothers and Palatka natives Scott and Skip Lagasse. The project includes various phases, starting with the shop, which also serves as a general store. “This is the first step in a series of developments that will transform the area,” said Mark Allen, General Manager of the Boathouse Riverfront. “Our vision includes a coffee and ice cream shop, a boaters’ lounge for transient boaters, and rental services for boats, kayaks, and paddleboards.”
